About

He started out working with an experimental filmmaker Kenneth Anger as a camera operator. Later on he started doing documentary film-making and eventually is photography caught the attention of Haskell Wexer and together they worked on Sigel's first film as a DOP named Latino. He has also become the main cinematographer for director Bryan Signer with his X-Men films.

Influences

His work on the 2011 film Drive influenced me because of the way he was able to create the stylized look of the film to make it a neo-noir film through the lighting, camera and color palette. One other aspect that heightens the visuals is something known as the quadrant system which is used to tell different stories in different parts of the frame as well as composing the shot to show various emotions and body language.
