On Thursday 11th our technical demonstrater went over the new camera available to us the Blackmagic Mini Ursa Pro and here are some of it's details and tips about it:
- It can shoot 4.6k
- Some of the lenses available to use on this camera are 24-105 variable, 50mm, 85mm
- When changing the lens make sure the camera is turned off
- The viewfinder that is attached to it doesn't fit in the bag so it is optional to have it
- When shooting in light, the N-D filters on the camera range from 1-4 and can be locked off after deciding
- If shooting in compressed format the ISO of 800 should be changed
- the ISO, white balance and shutter can be locked off as well after choosing
- The camera has a portable charger to take which can charge multiple bateries
- When deciding your format you have the option of Raw, Pro Res, HQ and 422 which can be accessed through the menu
- For me it will be best to shoot Pro Res
- Pro Res can do about 30 mins of footage
- Can also do 4k 16/9
- It has C/Fast card - version of memory card
- Also SD so use the toggle switch to pick the correct one so the camera picks it up
- 4k vs 1080 - 4k will take longer to edit
- Focus assist, lines means the area is in focus
- Zebras
- False colours for exposure reading
- Monitor - frame guides - black bars
- Can't change sound gain during take
